There is no other facility in this community that offers what the Y offers: a place where affordability never determines whether a child learns to swim, where a working parent has safe childcare, or whether a teenager has somewhere to go after school. 

​Membership at the Y starts at just $20 a month, with financial assistance available for those who qualify, because we believe wellness and belonging shouldn't depend on income. WHERE YOUR DOLLARS GO

Every gift to the Y goes directly toward keeping our facility running and our programs accessible. Here's what your support makes possible:

$250 helps staff ChildWatch for working families, so parents can exercise, work, or simply catch their breath knowing their children are safe and supervised.

​

$500 helps sponsor a child for Summer Camp and Afterschool Learning, giving a kid in our community a safe, structured place to be during the hours that matter most.

​

$1,000 helps fund community outreach and engagement efforts such as Health Fairs, Meal Distributions, and Supply Giveaways, reaching hundreds of families beyond our membership walls.

MORE THAN A GYM

The Y shows up for this community in ways that go beyond fitness:

• A place kids grow up. From our Youth Basketball League to Summer Day Camp to Swim Lessons, children in Selma start with us young and often return as volunteers once they've aged out of our programs.

• A civic institution. The Y serves as an official polling location for city and county elections, a role built on decades of community trust.

• A resource in crisis. When a tornado devastated Selma in 2023, the Y opened its doors to house a disaster relief team for three months and served nightly meals to displaced families. When the community needed us most, we were ready.

• A hub for food access. Through our partnership with the Central Alabama Food Bank, the Y can activate as a food distribution site with minimal delay, serving hundreds of families during times of need.
